SURAH QARIAH

                      بِسۡمِ اللهِ الرَّحۡمٰنِ الرَّحِيۡمِ

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

                                                          اَلۡقَارِعَةُ ۙ‏ 

The (Day) of Noise and Clamour:

                                                       مَا الۡقَارِعَةُ‌ ۚ‏ 

What is the (Day) of Noise and Clamour?

                                         وَمَاۤ اَدۡرٰٮكَ مَا الۡقَارِعَةُ ؕ‏ 

And what will explain to thee what the (Day) of Noise and Clamour is?

                        يَوۡمَ يَكُوۡنُ النَّاسُ كَالۡفَرَاشِ الۡمَبۡثُوۡثِۙ‏ 

(It is) a Day whereon men will be like moths scattered about,

                            وَتَكُوۡنُ الۡجِبَالُ كَالۡعِهۡنِ الۡمَنۡفُوۡشِؕ ‏ 

And the mountains will be like carded wool.

                                        فَاَمَّا مَنۡ ثَقُلَتۡ مَوَازِيۡنُهٗ ۙ‏ 

Then, he whose balance (of good deeds) will be (found) heavy,

                                         فَهُوَ فِىۡ عِيۡشَةٍ رَّاضِيَةٍ ؕ‏ 

Will be in a life of good pleasure and satisfaction.

                                        وَاَمَّا مَنۡ خَفَّتۡ مَوَازِيۡنُهٗ ۙ‏ 

But he whose balance (of good deeds) will be (found) light.

                                                     فَاُمُّهٗ هَاوِيَةٌ ؕ‏

Will have his home in a (bottomless) Pit.

                                               وَمَاۤ اَدۡرٰٮكَ مَا هِيَهۡ ؕ‏ 

And what will explain to thee what this is?

                                                          نَارٌ حَامِيَةٌ

(It is) a Fire Blazing fiercely!
